Solstad Offshore said that the large Normand Ranger anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) has won a contract in Australia, which will begin in the second quarter of 2021.
According to the Norwegian offshore service and supply ship shipping company, the AHTS Normand Ranger will travel from Norway and will then engaged in supporting a significant drilling campaign in North Western Australian waters.
The vessel will be utilized for the drilling campaign for nearly one year. Solstad Offshore said that the drilling campaign will also be supported by its Normand Saracen and Far Senator anchor handling tug supply vessels.
The Normand Ranger will operate in connection with a moored semi-submersible drilling rig, with the base port to be Dampier.
Additionally, the Far Seeker platform supply vessel (PSV) has won a contract from Australian oil and gas company Santos. PSV Far Seeker will support drilling activities in the waters of Timor Leste with operations to be largely from Darwin.
The firm contractual period is nearly six months, with further options in place for Santos. The contract work is slated to begin in April 2021.
Solstad Offshore said that the arrival of the Normand Ranger complements its existing fleet of four large anchor handling tug supply vessels and five PSV’s operating within Australia and New Zealand.
