Snacks giant Mondelēz opens new regional distribution center in Sandston

Mondelēz International has opened a new regional supply chain distribution center in Sandston, Virginia to expand its supply chain footprint in North America.

The new distribution site is part of the American snacks company’s $122.5 million investment over the next three years to ramp up its Henrico County operations.

The facility will help Mondelēz achieve the company’s 2025 sustainability goals by reducing transportation miles needed to deliver its snacks to retail customers.

Claudio Parrotta — Mondelēz International North America SVP and Chief Supply Chain Officer said: “This new regional distribution center, which sits close to our Richmond, VA biscuit bakery, will play an important role in delivering consumers’ best-loved snacks as part of the Mondelēz U.S. supply chain.
