Slovakia receives advanced F-16 Block 70 jets from Lockheed Martin in defense boost
Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has achieved a significant milestone with the successful delivery of the first two Slovakian F-16 Block 70 jets. OJ Sanchez, Vice President and General Manager of the Integrated Fighter Group at Lockheed Martin, highlighted the importance of this delivery. “The integration of the F-16 Block 70 jets is a crucial step in enhancing Slovakia’s ability to safeguard its borders and partner with allies across Europe, NATO, and globally,” Sanchez stated. The delivery signifies the beginning of a larger commitment, with Lockheed Martin planning to deliver a total of 14 jets to Slovakia.

Produced in Greenville, South Carolina, the F-16 Block 70 jets showcase the pinnacle of advanced engineering and technology in military aviation. In addition to Slovakia, Bulgaria has also signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) for an additional eight F-16 Block 70 jets. This agreement, once finalized, will further increase Lockheed Martin’s backlog, reinforcing its role as a key provider of advanced fighter jets on the global stage.
Ongoing Deliveries and Future Arrivals
The delivery of the jets to Slovakia is set to continue through 2025, with the first group, known as a ferry cell, expected to arrive in Slovakia in mid-2024.
