SJVN Limited bags 100MW solar power project from PSPCL

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN Limited) said that it has won a 100MW grid connected solar power project from the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) via tariff based competitive bidding process, on build own and operate (BOO) basis via e-reverse auction (e-RA) at a tariff of INR 2.69 per unit.

According to SJVN Limited, the tentative cost of construction of the photovoltaic project is INR 545 crores.

SJVN Limited expects the new solar power plant in Punjab to produce 245.28 MU in the first year. The cumulative energy generation will be nearly 5643.52 MU, over a period of 25 years.

The power purchase agreement (PPA) between Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd and SJVN Limited will be signed for 25 years.

SJVN Limited is a joint venture between the Indian government and the government of Himachal Pradesh.

In September 2021, the company bagged a 1GW solar power project from the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA).
