Siemens Smart Infrastructure launches Electrification X to enhance electrification across multiple sectors
Siemens Smart Infrastructure has launched Electrification X, a transformative addition to the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio aimed at modernizing ageing electrification infrastructure. Electrification X, introduced as the latest Software as a Service (SaaS) and Internet of Things (IoT) offering, joins Building X and Gridscale X in Siemens’ innovative technological lineup. The product was officially unveiled at Hannover Messe, held from 22 – 26 April.
This strategic expansion positions Siemens Smart Infrastructure at the forefront of the digital transformation of electrification systems across commercial, industrial, and utility applications. Electrification X is designed to enhance energy efficiency, enable e-mobility, and optimize industrial energy systems through a range of IoT SaaS offerings and software solutions.

Electrification X, which builds on the success of Building X and Gridscale X, offers a dynamic, open, and interoperable portfolio that facilitates seamless digital transformation. The suite of tools includes Load Management, Network Fault Management, Asset Management, Sustainability Energy Management, and OT Companion. These applications integrate the physical and digital worlds, supporting renewable generators, transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution system operators (DSOs), industries, and infrastructure customers in boosting productivity, reliability, asset utilization, energy efficiency, and sustainable innovation.
The product, based on highly scalable cloud services, aims to manage, optimize, and automate challenged electrification infrastructures, thereby improving performance and reducing costs and CO2 emissions. As part of the Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform, Electrification X is developed with core principles of interoperability, flexibility, openness, availability as a service, and with the highest level of cybersecurity.
