Mumbai Police have apprehended two individuals, Venkatesh Narasaiya Alluri, a 26-year-old YouTuber, and Lukman Mohammad Shafi Sheikh, a 28-year-old businessman, for gatecrashing the lavish wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The incident occurred at the opulent Jio World Drive in Mumbai, a venue owned by the Ambani family, during a ceremony attended by a constellation of celebrities, political leaders, and global magnates.
According to reports from ANI, the accused, who traveled from Andhra Pradesh specifically for the event, managed to infiltrate the grand wedding without invitations. Their unauthorized entry led to immediate action by Mumbai’s BKC police, resulting in their custody and the registration of separate cases against them. The police later released the individuals after issuing notices and taking necessary legal measures.
The wedding, a significant social event, saw Anant Ambani, son of Reliance Industries Limited Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani, tie the knot with pharmaceutical heiress Radhika Merchant. The celebration attracted a host of prominent figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President Ram Nath Kovind, and a variety of celebrities from different spheres such as Kim Kardashian and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
This breach of security at such a high-profile event raises questions about the measures in place to protect guests and dignitaries. The incident highlights the challenges and necessities of managing security at large-scale events, particularly when attended by notable figures from around the globe.
