Shearwater GeoServices wins seismic survey contract from CGG in Norwegian waters
Shearwater GeoServices said that it has bagged a contract from French geophysical services company CGG to undertake a large multicomponent seismic survey over the North Viking Graben area in Norwegian waters.
According to Shearwater GeoServices, the project, which has a duration of five months, is likely to begin in Q2 2022. It will be carried out by the SW Amundsen research vessel, said the Norwegian marine geophysical company.
The seismic survey is expected to grow and improve CGG’s data library of the North Viking Graben area.
Irene Waage Basili — CEO of Shearwater GeoServices said: “We have a strong working relationship with CGG and look forward to returning to the North Viking Graben to acquire multicomponent seismic data.
“Our partner has found diverse applications for its data library of the area, including for the insight it can bring to growing industries, such as carbon storage, demonstrating that seismic is an important contributor to the energy transition.”
