Senvion bags turbine contract from Taaleri Energia for TG East Wind Project
Wind industry news : Senvion, a German wind turbine manufacturer, has bagged a contract from Finnish energy company Taaleri Energia to deliver 275MW of wind turbines for the latter’s Truscott-Gilliland East Wind Project (TG East Wind Project) in Texas.
The TG East Wind Project, which will come up in Knox County, will be co-developed by Taaleri Energia and NorthRenew. The project, which marks the first wind project for Taaleri Energia in the US, was acquired from Truscott Gilliland Wind, who had development assistance from Chermac Energy.
The TG East Wind Project, which is expected to enter into commercial operations in 2020, will produce over a million megawatt hours of renewable power annually. The new wind farm in Texas is expected to see an investment of around $350 million.

Under the terms of its contract, Senvion will deliver 58 of its 4.2M140 turbines which have a hub height of 110m and also ten of its 3.2M114 turbines which have a hub height of 93m. The German wind turbine manufacturer will also be responsible for providing full-service operations and maintenance of the TG East Wind Project.

Apart from the contract for the TG East Wind Project in Texas, Senvion also bagged a conditional order for the 250MW Bhuj wind project in Gujarat, India from a special purpose vehicle of Continuum Wind Energy. As per the contract, the German wind turbine manufacturer will deliver 108 of its 2.3M130 turbines for the Bhuj wind project, which has been designed to provide enough power for nearly 288,000 Indian households.
