Sempra Infrastructure’s 319MW wind farm order fuels Mexico’s renewable energy expansion

Sempra Infrastructure, a division of Sempra, has announced a significant advancement in renewable energy in Mexico with a 319 MW order for the Cimarron wind farm, situated in Tecate, Baja California. This strategic move marks the third phase of the Energia Sierra Juarez Wind Complex, which, upon completion, will boast a total installed capacity of 582 MW. This development underscores Mexico’s growing commitment to renewable energy and positions the country as a leader in the Latin American energy transition.

The order encompasses the supply and installation of 46 V163-4.5 MW turbines and 18 V162-6.2 MW turbines by Vestas, a global leader in wind turbine production. Additionally, Vestas will provide a 10-year service agreement (AOM 5000) to ensure optimized energy production and long-term operational reliability for the wind farm.
