Route Mobile revolutionizes metro ticket booking with WhatsApp integration

Route Mobile Limited, in collaboration with E Solutions Private Limited, has significantly expanded its innovative WhatsApp-based ticket booking service to include , Hyderabad, and Nagpur metros, in addition to Delhi. This service transformation allows over 75 lakh daily commuters across these cities to purchase their metro tickets directly via WhatsApp, streamlining the ticketing process and enhancing user convenience.

The service, first launched for Delhi Metro in the second half of 2023, has now been extended to three more cities, making the largest enabler of WhatsApp-based metro ticketing in . The system allows commuters to select stations, specify ticket quantities, and make payments all within the WhatsApp platform, receiving their tickets in the form of QR codes that can be scanned at metro entrances.

The development of this ticketing solution was carried out in Route Lab, Route Mobile’s research and development center. It leverages advanced features such as web views and payment integrations, ensuring the system is not only easy to use but also secure and reliable. “Our focus is on creating unique solutions that revolutionize how customers interact with brands. By enabling ticket booking on WhatsApp for four major cities, we’ve introduced a major innovation in the public transportation sector,” commented Rajdipkumar Gupta, Managing Director & Group CEO of Route Mobile.

The deployment was made possible through a partnership with Mumbai-based integration partner, Billeasy, which has been pioneering similar solutions since 2020.
