RBL Bank gets RBI authorization to collect indirect taxes

Mumbai-based RBL Bank (formerly Ratnakar Bank) said that it has been given authorization from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for collecting indirect taxes on behalf of the Indian Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).

The authorization to RBL Bank is based on the Controller General of Accounts’ recommendation.

Recently, the private sector bank was given the authorization to collect direct taxes on behalf of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

RBL Bank said that after technical integration, its corporate and individual customers can pay their indirect taxes through its mobile banking or net banking platforms or at its branches.
