RattanIndia’s Throttle Aerospace Systems achieves DGCA type-certification for DOPO drone

RattanIndia Enterprises Ltd. (REL) has achieved a significant milestone with its company, Throttle Aerospace Systems (TAS), receiving the Type-Certification for its multipurpose drone, DOPO, from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This approval marks a key achievement in the Indian drone industry, especially for applications in Survey, Mapping, Inspection, Agriculture, Surveillance, and Disaster Management.

DOPO Drone: A Versatile Tool for Various Industrial Applications

DOPO, a ‘Small’ class drone, is distinguished by its weight of less than 5 kilograms and a notable flying time of 49 minutes, making it a practical choice for diverse operational needs. Its ability to map 1.5 Sq kms in a single flight and function across low, medium, and high altitudes with multiple payloads further amplifies its versatility. The drone’s ability to operate at a maximum temperature of 50°C and travel at aerial speeds of 32.4 Kms/hr showcases its robustness for various climatic conditions and operational requirements.

TAS’s Commitment to Indian Drone Manufacturing and Training

Marking a significant contribution to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, TAS is not only India’s first company to receive a provisional drone license from DGCA but also qualifies for the Government of India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. It is licensed to manufacture drones for the Defence industry. With a portfolio that encompasses both manufacturing and training, including a DGCA license for a Drone Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO), TAS stands out in the Indian drone sector. The company’s client base spans Defence, Government, Enterprise, and Institutions across India, highlighting its reach and impact.
