Woodside Energy has confirmed taking a final investment decision (FID) for the Pyxis Hub Project in production license WA-34-L, contained within the Greater Pluto field area in the offshore Carnarvon Basin in North West Australia.

The Pyxis Hub Project, which is aimed to be brought into production in 2021, will be a subsea tieback of the Pyxis, Pluto North, and Xena 2 infill wells with the subsea infrastructure of the producing Pluto gas field.

Woodside has awarded major contracts to support the design and installation of subsea equipment and infrastructure for the Pyxis Hub Project.

Peter Coleman – Woodside CEO said: “Development of the Pyxis Hub will support the future operation of Pluto LNG, the Pluto-NWS Interconnector and the broader Burrup Hub vision.”

Woodside has selected TechnipFMC for the integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract for the development of the Pyxis and Xena fields. As per the contract, valued in the range $75 million to $250 million, TechnipFMC will be taking care of the designing, manufacturing, delivery and installation of subsea equipment such as subsea production system, umbilicals, and flexible flowlines.

The contract is the first call-off under the five-year EPCI frame agreement between TechnipFMC and Woodside, which was signed recently. The frame agreement enables collaborative development of projects for Woodside through early engagement and utilization of TechnipFMC’s integrated execution solutions.

Commenting on Pyxis Hub Project contract, Arnaud Piéton – TechnipFMC subsea president, said: “We are very pleased to have signed a five-year Frame Agreement with Woodside that leads to this first contract under this agreement.
