Procter & Gamble recalls certain Zevo insect killer value packs in US

Procter & Gamble has issued a voluntary recall of one stock-keeping unit (SKU) of Zevo Fly, Gnat and Fruit Fly Flying Insect Killer Value Packs in the US owing to a potential packaging issue.

According to the consumer goods company, the recall is for lot code 3045D185EW3 that was dispatched on or after 13 March 2023 and sold at certain Meijer and Kroger and Kroger owned banner stores.

Procter & Gamble said that it has identified only a small number of products in which the packaging may be damaged.

The contents of the bottle are not affected, however, the packaging may be damaged during production and could have caused leakage or in very rare instances causing the bottle to crack, said the company in a press release.

Procter & Gamble claimed that the high-quality of its products as well as the protection of customers is its main concern. So far, there have been no consumer complaints, however, the recall action of Zevo Fly, Gnat and Fruit Fly Flying Insect Killer Value Packs is said to have been taken as a preventative measure.

The recalled insecticide can be identified through the purple label and is sold as twin value packs.

Other Zevo aerosols and sprays, and traps are not affected and could remain in use and purchased according to the intended use.

Zevo will also provide reimbursement to consumers who purchased affected products. The consumer should stop using and properly dispose of the affected aerosol sprays, said the consumers good company.

Procter & Gamble stated: “It is recommended to place the product into a separate plastic bag (as is) and if the twin pack is still unopened, dispose of it without separating the two cans from the shrink-wrapped plastic.”
