Preformed Line Products acquires Maxxweld Conectores Elétricos in Brazil

Preformed Line Products Company (PLP), an Ohio-based fiber optic cable manufacturer, has acquired Maxxweld Conectores Elétricos in Brazil for an undisclosed price.

Established in 1991, Maxxweld Conectores Elétricos is engaged in designing and manufacturing substation connector systems and accessory hardware for high voltage AC systems. The company is headquartered in Curitiba.

By acquiring Maxxweld Conectores Elétricos, Preformed Line Products Company expects to grow its operational and technical capabilities in Brazil significantly. The acquisition will also back its overall global substation strategy, said the American firm.

Rob Ruhlman — Preformed Line Products Company CEO and President said: “The acquisition of Maxxweld further enhances the operational reach of our global substation business and brings with it a great team of talented people that will be critical for expanding our substation business in South America.

“The addition of Maxxweld to our global substation group will significantly expand our ability to service our utility customers throughout the region and globally.”
