In a spectacular showcase of cinematic success, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and featuring a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone, has achieved a remarkable feat. Within just one month of its release, the film has amassed over Rs 625 crore at the Indian box office. This impressive figure places Kalki 2898 AD as the highest-grossing film of the year so far and the fifth highest-grossing film in the history of Indian cinema.

As it stands, Kalki 2898 AD is on the brink of overtaking Jawan to claim the fourth spot in the all-time highest-grossing Indian films. The film needs an additional Rs 15 crore to surpass Jawan, a milestone that seems within reach given its current trajectory. Moreover, Kalki 2898 AD has secured its place as the third highest-grossing Telugu film of all time, trailing behind SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

The film’s box office journey has been marked by impressive numbers, with Kalki 2898 AD earning Rs 414.85 crore in its opening week. The second week saw a substantial addition of Rs 128.5 crore. However, the film’s collections began to decline in the third week to Rs 56.1 crore and further reduced to Rs 24.4 crore in the fourth week. Despite this drop, Kalki 2898 AD maintained a steady performance, with daily collections not falling below Rs 1 crore throughout the month.

Entering its fifth week, the film has already garnered Rs 1.25 crore, according to early estimates by Sacnilk. It is worth noting that Kalki 2898 AD faced strong competition from Deadpool & Wolverine, which earned over Rs 21 crore on its opening Friday. Nevertheless, Kalki 2898 AD is anticipated to see a resurgence in collections over the weekends, continuing its successful run.
