Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has prevailed as the successful bidder for a power transmission project that will evacuate 8.1GW power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan.
According to the Indian government-owned power transmission company, the award is under tariff based competitive bidding to set up a transmission system for “System Strengthening Transmission Scheme for evacuation of power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan (8.1GW) under Phase-II -Part-G” on build, own, operate and maintain (BOOM) basis.
In this connection, POWERGRID has been issued a letter of intent (LoI).
The power transmission project involves the setting up of a new 765/400kV GIS substation at Narela in Delhi NCT and 765kV D/C transmission lines in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi NCT.
