PCI Pharma Services to open new clinical center of excellence in Berlin

PCI Pharma Services, a drug development solutions provider, is set to expand its global clinical trial services with a new clinical center of excellence (COE) at its Berlin location in Germany.

The pharma and biopharma outsourcing solutions provider said that the new center will enable it to grow its clinical supply-chain network into continental Europe to complement offerings available at its UK and Ireland locations.

PCI Pharma Services expects the clinical center of excellence in Berlin to be completed early next year. The new hub will have 17,000 square feet of space, which will be exclusively used for primary and secondary packaging, storing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical therapies at all ranges of temperature, and distribution.

Brian Keesee – PCI Pharma Services global clinical operations and supply vice president and general manager said: “With this expansion, our Berlin Clinical Center of Excellence will address the needs of European and global clients.

The company believes that the new capacity will enable it to cater to the clinical trials ecosystem based in the European Union, which presently has over 38,100 active trials sites throughout the 27-member states, which is next only to the US for such research.

Salim Haffar – CEO of PCI Pharma Services said: “Our strategy has always been to increase the capacity and capabilities of our clinical trial services network, and with the acquisition of Bellwyck Pharma Services earlier this year, we are taking the next step to enhance our capabilities at our new Berlin facility to support the growing clinical trial market in Europe and beyond.
