Patel Engineering is Dibang Multipurpose Project L1 bidder in NHPC auction
Patel Engineering in a joint venture has emerged as the L1 bidder for the INR 3,637.12 crores Dibang Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh.
The infrastructure and construction services company prevailed in an auction held by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
The Dibang Multipurpose Project is a 2.88GW hydropower project and flood moderation scheme planned to be built on the Dibang River in Lower Dibang Valley District.
Patel Engineering‘s share in the order is INR 1,818.56 crores.
The e‐reverse auction from NHPC was for the construction of civil works for LOT‐4. These comprise head race tunnels including intake, pressure shafts, penstocks, tail race tunnels, powerhouse and transformer cavern, adits, pothead yard, and others for the Dibang Multipurpose Project, which will house a dozen units of 240MW each.
The Dibang hydropower project is to be executed in a timeline of 86 months. It will be carried out in a joint venture, in which Patel Engineering holds a stake of 50%.

“We are extremely happy and thrilled to be a part of this mega project which will help shape India’s infrastructure as well as contribute to the local surroundings, the people there and the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The Company is currently executing other projects as well in the same state and our experience will help give us an advantage executing this project.”
Recently, Patel Engineering was issued a letter of award (LoA) pertaining to the Rihand Micro Irrigation Project in Madhya Pradesh.
