Paessler to add IT transparency solutions with acquisition of qbilon

Paessler AG, a German IT monitoring specialist which has developed the Paessler PRTG software has acquired qbilon GmbH for an undisclosed price.

Based in Germany, qbilon has built a platform for automating the capture, analysis and streamlining of hybrid IT landscapes.

Paessler said that the acquisition is a step in the company’s long-term plans for growth to offer the highest quality IT, OT, and IoT monitoring solutions to its clients and to expand its presence specifically in the large-scale enterprise sector and with the introduction of new products.

qbilon was founded in the year 2019 by four computer science researchers from the University of Augsburg. It will retain its headquarters in Augsburg.

Numerous well-known companies in the utility, automotive, and manufacturing sectors, such as KTR Systems, are currently using qbilonULTIMATE to analyze, improve and manage their IT landscapes.

By acquiring the company, Paessler will add IT transparency solutions to its array of service offerings. This involves combining, exploiting, and analyzing datasets from the entire IT landscape of a customer and bringing added value from the management of architecture and costs to IT security and governance aspects.

qbilon allows integration with a variety of data sources, such as cloud platforms like AWS or Azure IT management and monitoring software such as Paessler PRTG or Dynatrace, and virtualization tools, such as vSphere.
