Orange Cyberdefense, a cybersecurity subsidiary of Orange, has acquired Switzerland-based sister companies SCRT and Telsys, in a move to strengthen its presence in the European cybersecurity market.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
SCRT provides cybersecurity services such as managed security services, ethical hacking, consulting, and remediation in case of a cyberattack. Telsys, on the other hand, is specialized in IT solutions management.
The acquisition has now expanded the European presence of Orange Cyberdefense to nine countries, namely France, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, the UK, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Orange Cyberdefense anticipates increasing its expertise in cyber threat intelligence and ethical hacking through the transaction.
Hugues Foulon — Orange Cyberdefense CEO said: “This is another step forward in our goal to establish ourselves as the European leader in cybersecurity.
“We are accelerating into the seventh cybersecurity market in Europe and thus consolidating the position of the Orange Group in the Swiss market.”
Orange Cyberdefense will retain the integrated and management teams of both SCRT and Telsys to support and fast-track its expansion plans, mainly in the Swiss-German territories in synergy with Orange Business Services, a business services arm of Orange.
Eric Delangle — SCRT and Telsys Chairman, said: “This operation will enable us to pursue our leadership project in Switzerland by relying on the size of Orange Cyberdefense, its portfolio of services and its operational model to better serve our national customers.”
Telsys joined SCRT in 2020 to meet the growing demands of existing and future customers.
Orange Cyberdefense with the objective of reaching one billion euros in 2023 reported a turnover of +14% in 2021.
In 2019, Orange Cyberdefense acquired SecureLink, a Netherlands-based cybersecurity specialist, and SecureData, a UK-based cybersecurity service provider.
