Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) said that Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has selected the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform to run its advanced SAP S/4 HANA mission-critical environment.

SAP S/4 HANA will help the Indian state-owned oil and gas giant to enhance performance, expedite digitization, cut down transaction processing time, and get better insights from improved analytics, said Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

ONGC will host the SAP S/4 HANA workloads on the HPE GreenLake platform in its data centers because of strategic compliance, performance, and security priorities.

According to Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the Indian oil and gas major has to continue meeting its commitment to national production while staying in line with new regulatory requirements and security protocols. Due to these, ONGC identified the necessity of modernizing its SAP workloads to make them flexible and scale up or down depending on new demands and enable it to digitize more applications, enhance analytics, and remove critical data loss.

The model ensures a buffer capacity of 30% that is available on-premises for scaling up and down as the business requires, which results in more flexibility for ONGC as it makes a complete refresh of its IT.

Furthermore, HPE GreenLake Central provides a dashboard to ONGC for monitoring and planning daily use and spend of IT for avoiding any hidden costs.
