One80 Intermediaries acquires reinsurance MGU Equinox Management

One80 Intermediaries, a US wholesale broker, program manager, and insurance aggregator, has acquired the Equinox Management Group and its affiliates Meridian Management Group and Co-Ordinated Benefit Plans for an undisclosed price.

Equinox Management Group is a reinsurance managing general underwriter (MGU) founded in 1994 by Suzanne Whalen and Kevin Leys.  In 1997, the company is said to have grown its offerings to offer producers with MGU services for travel/accident and health and other specialty property and casualty lines of coverage, which operate under the Meridian Management Group brand.

In 2006, Equinox Management Group acquired Co-Ordinated Benefit Plans to offer technology-based administration services with a particular focus on travel/accident & health products. Headquartered in Oradell, New Jersey, Equinox Management Group has offices across Clearwater in Florida and San Diego in California.
