Odfjell Drilling wins contract for Deepsea Yantai drilling rig from PGNiG

Odfjell Drilling said that on behalf of CIMC OFFSHORE AS, it has entered into a contract with PGNiG Upstream Norway for engaging the Deepsea Yantai drilling rig.
The contract calls for the drilling of one firm well called Tomcat in PL 1055 in the Norwegian Sea. It also comes with the option to drill two additional wells in 2024.
According to Odfjell Drilling, the firm scope of work is likely to take 55 days and will begin in the second or third quarter of 2024.
Following the signing of the contract, the firm backlog for the Deepsea Yantai drilling rig is anticipated to now extend into the third quarter of 2024, said the Scottish engineering services company.
