Nordex Group revealed that it has won a couple of orders for supplying 59MW N163/5.X turbines for Falck Renewables’ Finnish subsidiary for the Mustalamminmäki wind farm and the Koiramäki wind farm.
The two wind farms are to be constructed in the Karstula municipality in central Finland.
Under the contract, Nordex Group will deliver a total of 10 N163/5.X turbines, five each for the Mustalamminmäki wind farm and the Koiramäki wind farm.
The two orders from the Falck Renewables subsidiary also feature a service contract for maintenance of the wind turbines for a 10-year period.
Nordex Group said that it will install the onshore wind turbines on tubular steel towers having a hub height of 148m during summer 2023.
According to the German wind turbine manufacturer, because of the harsh weather conditions in Karstula, the N163/5.X turbines will be delivered in the cold climate version, while the rotor blades will come with the Nordex Advanced Anti-Icing-System for the rotor blades.
Patxi Landa — Nordex Group CSO said: “We are pleased to be able to equip the first two Finnish projects of our long-standing partner Falck Renewables with our N163 turbines. With the experience gained from past Nordex projects in Sweden, Falck Renewables orders for Finland once again demonstrate the outstanding suitability of our solutions for cold climatic conditions in the Nordic countries.”
