Nokia enhances global HR operations with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM deployment

Nokia has taken a significant stride in its company-wide digitalization efforts by deploying Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM). This strategic move aims to consolidate 14 different Human Resources applications into a single cloud-based platform, thus centralizing and simplifying HR processes for Nokia’s expansive workforce of over 80,000 employees across 115 countries.

The deployment introduces NokiaME, a new HR platform that will replace various on-premises systems previously managed at the business unit or country level. This initiative will streamline over 100 HR processes into one integrated system, vastly simplifying operations and enhancing efficiency across the organization. Lisbeth Nielsen, Head of People Business Services at Nokia, emphasized the transformative impact of NokiaME, noting, “The rollout of NokiaME represents a significant step towards a new era of HR at Nokia. It delivers a true digital transformation, spanning all of our HR functions and positively impacting the experience of our entire global workforce.”

Oracle Cloud HCM is set to significantly improve the employee experience at Nokia by generating better workforce insights and introducing more automation and self-service processes. This reduction in manual administration is expected to boost employee productivity substantially. Additionally, the platform will provide a consistent approach to HR management across the company’s global operations.

Irina Starikova, Head of Enterprise Applications at Nokia, highlighted the ongoing benefits of using Oracle’s SaaS solution, “Oracle HCM is a SaaS solution which means we are already getting regular updates from Oracle to ensure the system stays secure, stable, and can meet changing business needs fast – aligned with global standards.”

Cormac Watters, Executive Vice President, Applications, EMEA at Oracle, stated, “Natively built for the cloud, Oracle Cloud HCM enables Nokia to connect every HR process, from hire to retire, across its global organization.”

The implementation of this comprehensive system is managed by Oracle PartnerNetwork member Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Vikram Karakoti, Global Head of Enterprise Solutions at TCS, expressed confidence in the partnership, “TCS has worked with Oracle for decades and will continue to be an active partner in the deployment of its SaaS solutions.”

Nokia’s transition to Oracle Cloud HCM marks a milestone in its digital transformation journey, delivering immediate benefits for its workforce and setting a new standard in HR management. With enhanced capabilities and a unified approach, Nokia is well-positioned to foster a productive and satisfied workforce geared towards future growth and innovation.
