NLC India Limited reports 37% increase in power generation in H1 2021-22

NLC India Limited said that its standalone and consolidated power generation during the six months ended 30 September 2021 was 13,043 million units (MU) and 15,619 MU, a growth of 37% and 29% respectively, compared to 9,490 MU and 12,100 MU, respectively in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The Indian government-owned fossil fuel electric power generation firm reported 1,177 MU of renewable energy generation during the reported half year. This represents a 10% growth compared to 1,075 MU in the same period of the previous year.

According to NLC India Limited, its lignite sales during the half year ended 30 September 2021 were 18 lakh tonnes (LT), a 130% increase compared to 8 LT in the corresponding period of the past year.

NLC India Limited said that following the commissioning of Talabira Coal Mines, sales of coal during the reported six months were 19 LT with INR 248 crores in revenue addition.

The group’s total income during the half year ended 30 September 2021 was INR 6,536 crores, a 17% growth compared to INR 5,575 crores during the corresponding period of the previous year.

Its profit after tax (PAT) for the reported six months was INR 555 crores, a 37% growth compared to INR 405 crores in the corresponding period of the previous year.
