Canadian energy company Black Swan Energy has officially inaugurated the 100 MMcf/d Nig Creek Gas Processing Facility located in the Montney area in northeast British Columbia.

The Nig Creek Gas Processing Facility with an expansion possibility by over 80 MMcf/d will supply gas through pipelines to various markets in North America and export the associated produced propane to the Far East markets.

The new Canadian gas processing facility was constructed and designed by taking into account various green initiatives such as the installation of waste heat recovery, which is capable of reducing emissions by 10,000 tonnes annually.

Black Swan Energy said that it is also constructing a liquids pipeline to bring down the frequency of trucking, thereby helping towards an additional reduction of 1,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.

The Canadian energy company said that well sites flowing into the Nig Creek Gas Processing Facility are designed to reduce environmental impacts by integrating solar panels that in turn offset greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 600 tonnes per year per well site.

Black Swan Energy also said that with the Nig Creek Gas Processing Facility coming online, the company’s production is on track to achieve exit 2019 guidance of 40,000-42,000 boe/d, having already reached a daily record rate of 42,600 boe/d on 3 October 2019.
