NFP acquires California-based P&C broker Santa Maria & Company

US insurance broker and consultant NFP has acquired Santa Maria & Company (SM&C), a property and casualty (P&C broker) based in Walnut Creek, California, for an undisclosed price.

The acquisition is said to help NFP expand its footprint in Northern California.

Santa Maria & Company caters to clients across Northern California. The company offers them P&C capabilities, which include risk management consulting and commercial insurance solutions.

Craig Santa Maria will join NFP in the role of a senior vice president. He will report to Doug Turk, who is the regional managing director of NFP’ West region.
