Mumbai Police investigates threat call tied to mystery woman Seema Haider
An investigation is underway in Mumbai regarding an anonymous call threatening a terrorist attack similar to the 26/11 incident in Mumbai if Seema Haider, a Pakistani national, doesn’t return to her country.
The anonymous call, which was made in Urdu, suggested that the Uttar Pradesh government would be accountable for the potential terror attack.
The ominous call was received by the traffic control room of the Mumbai Police, sparking an immediate investigation. A complaint lodged by the Mumbai traffic police led to the registration of an FIR at Worli police station on Monday against unidentified individuals. The case has since been transferred to the crime branch.
The call was traced back to an app, and efforts are currently underway to determine the IP address of the unknown caller.
Seema Haider, a 30-year-old woman from Pakistan, came to India illegally in May to marry Sachin Meena, a resident of Greater Noida. Their friendship blossomed while playing the online game PUBG. Both Seema Haider and Sachin Meena were arrested on July 4 for illegally entering India but were subsequently released on bail by a court on July 7.
Seema Haider and Sachin Meena’s interrogation by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police coincides with a demand by a minor right-wing group in Greater Noida. The group has threatened to protest if Seema Haider, who came to India unlawfully with her four children, is not deported from the country within 72 hours.
