Mizkan America, a subsidiary of Japan-based Mizkan Group, has acquired Born Simple, a natural and organic barbeque sauce and broth brand, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition is expected to grow the reach of Mizkan America into the natural-foods’ channel.

According to Mizkan America, products under the Born Simple brand are prepared with simple, clean ingredients like those used in the home pantries of consumers. Currently, Born Simple barbeque sauce and broth products are available in Whole Foods stores across the US.
