The Nordex Group has bagged the turbine contract for the 58.5MW Mierzyn wind farm in Poland from Tauron Zielona Energia, a subsidiary of Polish utility TAURON Polska Energia.
Under the terms of the contract, Nordex will supply and install 15 N131/3900 turbines for the wind farm to be built in northwestern Poland.
The contract also covers service for the turbines for a period of three years.
Nordex said that it will install the N131/3900-turbines for the Mierzyn wind farm in autumn 2023 on tubular steel towers having a hub height of 134m.
Commissioning of the wind turbines is slated for summer 2024, said the German wind turbine manufacturer.
According to Nordex, the Mierzyn wind farm is its first contract from TAURON Polska Energia, which so far has nine wind farms with a total capacity of over 380MW. The Polish utility also has 34 hydroelectric plants with a total capacity of 132MW and three solar power plants with a capacity of 19MW.
