TreeTown , a wholesale nursery and tree grower, has acquired , a based in Hillsboro, , for an undisclosed price.

The deal marks TreeTown USA’s first acquisition that doesn’t feature a nursery operation. It further strengthens its continuing commitment to deploy the latest advanced automation, mechanization and lean practices in the industry.

Jonathan Saperstein – TreeTown USA CEO said: “Having Midas as a part of the family will go a long way in helping us develop, implement and institutionalize industry leading solutions to mechanization and lean practices. What’s more, this expanded relationship will allow us to better capitalize on Midas’ capabilities and values that they have continued to demonstrate over the years of our work with them.”

Following its acquisition, Midas Nursery Solutions will not support outside firms and will only focus on supporting TreeTown USA.

Midas Nursery Solutions offers nursery automation products designed to raise productivity and consistency and quality, including tray automation and material handling and also potting solutions and hand held machines. The horticulture automation company tests and uses most of the products and stands behind each one provided.

Matt Gold will now take direct responsibility for TreeTown USA’s industrial engineering and project teams.

Founded in 2001, TreeTown USA, which is based in Houston, Texas, has 18 growing facilities with 6000 production acres across Texas, Florida, California and Oregon.

Through the addition of a West Coast Division with Village Nurseries and Hines Growers, the combined company currently has a coast-to-coast presence for its broad range of high-quality plant material that includes more than 5,000 unique plant selections and variations.
