Mentone gas processing plant : Enterprise Products begins operations at Texan gas plant
US midstream company Enterprise Products Partners has commissioned its Mentone gas processing plant in Texas built at Loving County.
The Mentone gas processing facility, which broke ground in October 2018, has been designed to process 300 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) of natural gas, and extract over 40,000 barrels per day (BPD) of natural gas liquids (NGL).
Underpinned by a long-term acreage dedication agreement, the cryogenic natural gas processing plant in Loving County is expected to pave way for the continued growth of natural gas and NGLs produced from the Delaware Basin.
Brent Secrest – executive vice president and chief commercial officer of Enterprise Products Partners general partner, commenting on the Mentone gas processing plant, said: “Mentone is our seventh natural gas processing plant in the Delaware Basin and increases our total capacity in the Permian Basin to more than 1.6 MMcf/d of natural gas processing and more than 250,000 BPD of NGL extraction.
“These assets provide critical infrastructure to facilitate growing natural gas and NGL production in the region, which is expected to increase by more than 60 percent over the next five years. The addition of Mentone also enhances access to our fully integrated midstream network of assets linking producers in the Delaware Basin to domestic and international demand.”
Enterprise Products Partners has also built 66 miles of large-diameter gathering and residue pipelines and expanded compression capabilities that connect the Mentone gas processing plant to the NGL and Texas Intrastate natural gas pipeline networks of the partnership.
To facilitate the increase in NGLs, Enterprise Products Partners is constructing 300,000 BPD of fractionation capacity at its Mont Belvieu storage complex in Texas.
