McLane opens new grocery distribution center in Florida
New grocery distribution center in Florida : US supply chain company McLane has opened a new grocery distribution center in the Ocala International Commerce Center in Ocala in Florida, which will serve the quickly-growing customer base in the North Florida region.
McLane Ocala is a 400,000 square foot facility, which houses 165,000 square feet of dry grocery, about 200,000 square feet of perishables to go along with 35,000 square feet of office and support space.
The first shipment at the new grocery distribution center in Florida arrived earlier this month and deliveries are set to commence mid March.
The new McLane grocery distribution center will bring more than 400 new jobs in Marion County. By the year end, McLane Ocala is looking to hire 316 warehouse and support teammates and 120 drivers and transportation support teammates.
The US supply chain company will started hiring drivers in October 2018 to enable the selected personnel to become used to customers of McLane and the delivery process.
McLane Ocala is the sixth distribution center of the US supply chain company in Florida, joining the grocery center in Kissimmee and four foodservice centers located in Lakeland, Haines City and two in Orlando.
