Matter Motor, Airtel ignite IoT revolution with India’s first geared electric bike

In a pioneering collaboration, Bharti Airtel, one of India’s top telecommunications service providers, and tech-driven start-up Matter Motor Works, have teamed up to implement the former’s IoT solutions in Matter AERA – India’s premier and exclusive geared electric motorbike.

The partnership will involve the inclusion of advanced automotive grade E-Sims from Airtel in all Matter AERA bikes, a product for which pre-booking began on 17th May. In the initial phase, an estimated 60,000 Matter bikes will be enhanced with Airtel E-Sims, integrating advanced IoT features that promise a smart and connected experience across Airtel’s superior pan-India network.

Anticipating the production of over 300,000 such bikes within the next three years, Matter Motor Works stands poised to leverage the capabilities of Airtel’s sophisticated IoT platform, “Airtel IoT Hub”. This platform will enable real-time tracking of these vehicles and provide performance monitoring with advanced analytics, all while ensuring remarkably high reliability supplemented by telco grade security.
