Adipurush writer, , has offered an apology for the controversial dialogues in the highly hyped film that became a major dud at the box office, following negative talk from the audience.

The apology, posted on his Twitter account, has come following allegations of hurting religious sentiments. Manoj Muntashir, previously, had claimed the film to be “inspired by”, rather than “based on”, the Hindu epic Ramayan and pleaded for some “creative freedom”.

On social media, Manoj Muntashir conveyed his regret, stating his understanding of people’s hurt emotions due to Adipurush. He extended an unreserved apology, invoking the blessing of Prabhu Bajrang Bali to foster unity and strength to serve the sacred Sanatan and the nation.

The apology garnered mixed responses from netizens. While some argued it was too late for such an apology, others voiced their support for the writer. Critics claimed that he purposely delayed the apology until the movie’s theatrical run neared its end, to prevent any negative impact on the box office collections.

Adipurush, directed by , features Prabhas, Kriti, Sunny Singh, and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, depicting characters from the Ramayan. The film, which launched to high expectations, drew criticism for its subpar VFX and controversial dialogues. It has struggled to maintain its theatre run and is presently nearing its conclusion. However, T-Series previously announced that the film had grossed over NR 450 crores worldwide.
