Maruti Suzuki achieves historic milestone with over one million units sold in H1 FY 2023-24

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, a leading automobile manufacturer, has reported robust sales figures for September 2023, solidifying its position in the Indian automotive market. The company achieved a total sales figure of 181,343 units during the month, showcasing the strong demand for its vehicles. These sales include 153,106 units in the domestic market, 5,726 units sold to other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and 22,511 units exported globally.

Notably, for the April-September 2023 period, Maruti Suzuki India Limited achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing the half-yearly sales mark of one million units. This achievement underscores the brand’s popularity and its ability to meet the diverse needs of Indian consumers.

A breakdown of the sales figures for September 2023 reveals that the Mini and Compact segment, which includes popular models like Alto, Baleno, Dzire, and Swift, accounted for 78,903 units sold. The Mid-Size segment, represented by the Ciaz, contributed 1,491 units to the overall sales.

In the Utility Vehicles category, models like Brezza, Ertiga, and S-Cross, among others, saw robust demand, resulting in 59,271 units sold in September. Maruti Suzuki’s Vans segment, featuring the Eeco, recorded 11,147 units in sales for the same period.

The domestic passenger vehicle sales (PV), including Mini, Compact, Mid-Size, Utility Vehicles, and Vans, reached a total of 150,812 units. When combined with Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) such as the Super Carry, the domestic sales figure, including LCV, stood at 153,106 units.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited also maintained a strong presence in the export market, with 22,511 units exported in September 2023. This international reach signifies the brand’s global recognition and export capabilities.
