These models, part of Mahindra’s flagship Electric Origin line-up, were announced during the “Unlimit India Tech Day” and mark a significant leap in sustainable transportation solutions.
Introducing Premium Electric Vehicles at Accessible Prices
With prices starting at ₹26.9 lakh for the BE 6 Pack Three and ₹30.5 lakh for the XEV 9e Pack Three, Mahindra is addressing growing consumer interest in luxury EVs. The company’s innovative “Three for Me” finance program allows buyers to own these high-end vehicles at monthly EMIs comparable to base variants. This initiative combines affordability with cutting-edge features, broadening the appeal of premium electric vehicles to a wider audience.
Mahindra’s President of the Automotive Sector, Veejay Nakra, highlighted the strategy behind this launch, noting that the market’s appetite for advanced EV technology is at an all-time high. Nakra reiterated the company’s goal of making high-performance EVs more mainstream by targeting a total of 5,000 monthly sales in the initial phase.

Both the BE 6 and XEV 9e feature Mahindra’s INGLO electric skateboard architecture, delivering best-in-class performance with a 210 kW motor. This design allows for rapid acceleration, with the BE 6 reaching 0-100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds and the XEV 9e in 6.8 seconds. With real-world ranges exceeding 500 km, these vehicles eliminate range anxiety, setting a new standard in the industry.
At the core of this innovation is Mahindra’s proprietary MAIA artificial intelligence system, capable of 50 trillion operations per second. Equipped with next-generation connectivity technologies such as 5G, WiFi 6.0, and Bluetooth 5.2, the system ensures seamless updates and lightning-fast processing, redefining the driving experience.
Luxury Meets Sustainability in Premium Electric Vehicles
Mahindra’s new EVs combine luxury with sustainable transportation solutions. Key features include augmented reality heads-up displays (AR-HUD), adaptive cruise control, and Level 2+ advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), ensuring a safe and comfortable ride. The Harman Kardon 16-speaker system with Dolby Atmos, customizable ambient lighting, and intelligent climate controls such as “PawPal” for pets and “CampMe” for outdoor adventures elevate the overall user experience.
These vehicles also offer superfast charging, achieving 20-80% battery capacity in under 20 minutes with a 175 kW DC charger. Their build quality reflects Mahindra’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, combining energy efficiency with premium aesthetics.
Phased Rollout and Market Positioning
Test drives for the BE 6 and XEV 9e will begin on January 14, 2025, across six cities, expanding to 45 cities by early February. Bookings open on February 14, with deliveries expected in March. By aligning this launch with Valentine’s Day, Mahindra aims to capitalize on market enthusiasm for gifting experiences.
