L&T Technology Services wins landmark $100m cybersecurity project in India

L&T Technology Services Limited (LTTS), a globally renowned pure-play engineering and technology services company, has announced securing a contract worth approximately $100 million. This significant achievement stems from a collaboration with Maharashtra State Cyber Department, under the Government of Maharashtra, positioning LTTS at the forefront of developing secure, digitally interconnected smart and safe cities in India. This initiative marks a first-of-its-kind program in the country, leveraging LTTS’ expertise alongside M/s KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP as the forensic partner to bolster the state’s cybersecurity infrastructure.

The ambitious project aims to design a sophisticated cybersecurity system and establish a cutting-edge Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Prevention Centre. This initiative will utilize advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and digital forensic tools to enhance public safety and strengthen the state’s resilience against cyber threats. The program’s scope includes the creation of a Digital Threat Analytics Centre (DTAC) coupled with a Centre of Excellence (COE). These centers will arm the forensic team with the latest in digital forensic tools, such as Deepfake detection, Mobile Malware forensics, and more, to streamline crime scene management and cybercrime investigations.

Additionally, a Central Emergency Response Team (CERT) and a state-of-the-art Security Operations Centre (SOC) will be established. The SOC will be fortified by AI & ML technologies and manned by a skilled cyber team to protect critical infrastructure, showcasing LTTS’ commitment to enhancing cybersecurity measures.

The partnership between LTTS and KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP plays a pivotal role in this initiative.
