L&T Technology, Qualcomm partner to serve 5G private network industry

L&T Technology Services (LTTS), a subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has announced a partnership with Qualcomm Technologies to provide solutions for the global 5G private network industry.

Under the collaboration, L&T Technology Services and Qualcomm Technologies will deploy end-to-end solutions by leveraging their combined core expertise in the hi-tech and telecommunication domain.

The partners will combine core competencies in telecommunication solutions as well as services to help end-customers in the manufacturing and warehousing/logistics sector.

L&T Technology Services said that its engineers are making use of its expertise in chip-to-cloud to exploit the capabilities of 5G and transform global manufacturing as well as supply chain processes.

As part of the partnership, Qualcomm Technologies will engage Private Networks RAN Automation technology for automating and managing small cells and pre-integrated PN solutions.

Savi Soin — Qualcomm Technologies Senior Vice President of Business Development and Partnerships said: “We are committed to expanding our one technology roadmap for a future that is connecting everything to the cloud. L&T Technology Services said that it will enable end-to-end system integration, design, and implement use cases, offer engineering consulting, and deploy services in addition to edge-to-cloud orchestration and management.

By bringing together their strengths in a diverse ecosystem, Qualcomm Technologies and L&T Technology Services are said to be facilitating Industry 4.0 solutions for enterprises.

The Larsen & Toubro subsidiary, as part of the collaboration, will also set up an engineering center of excellence in Santa Clara with the support of Qualcomm Technologies to expedite the adoption of 5G private wireless networks.
