L&T Construction wins major water supply orders in Uttar Pradesh

The Water & Effluent Treatment Business of Larsen & Toubro Construction (L&T Construction) has secured orders ranging from Rs 2,500 to 5,000 crores from the State Water & Sanitation Mission, Uttar Pradesh.

These orders involve constructing a water supply scheme for the Hanumanganj multi-group of villages in Ballia and Firozabad districts.

The project specifications include designing and constructing one intake structure, a water treatment plant with a capacity of 148 MLD, transmission and distribution pipelines spanning 5534 kilometers, 13 clear water reservoirs with an aggregate capacity of 25 ML, and 504 overhead service reservoirs with an aggregate capacity of 115.4 ML. The order also includes creating 13 pumphouses, 3.81 lakh house service connections, associated electromechanical and instrumentation works, and a 10-year operation and maintenance plan.

The project aims to provide safe and potable drinking water to 50.85 lakh rural populations in Uttar Pradesh. It’s part of the larger Jal Jeevan Mission by the state government, intending to supply piped drinking water to every household.

In addition to this scheme, the business is carrying out six surface water-based schemes and automated groundwater-based rural water supply projects in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Moreover, L&T Construction has also secured a breakthrough order from the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for Make-up Water System & Ash Disposal cum Ash Water Recirculation System (AWRS) Package at Talcher. The scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the complete Make-up water system and Ash Disposal cum AWRS package as part of NTPC’s expansion plan for Talcher Thermal Power Plant.

The Make-up Water System ensures continuous and reliable water supply for efficient power plant operations. The Ash Disposal cum AWRS Package provides a robust solution for managing and disposing of ash generated during the power generation process.

These orders underscore L&T Construction’s expertise in executing Industrial Water Projects across diverse sectors such as power, infrastructure, and hydrocarbon.
