L&T bags multiple contracts for water and effluent treatment unit

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that the water and effluent treatment business of L&T Construction has bagged multiple orders in the range of INR 2,500-5,000 crores.

It has won a couple of EPC orders from the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, for the bulk supply of treated water to a million people living across 412 villages and 15 dhanies in the Fazilka and Ferozepur districts. The contract will be on a design, build, operate, transfer (DBOT) basis.

According to , the total scope of work includes design and construction of raw water intake systems, water treatment plants with a total capacity of 114 MLD, storage and sedimentation tanks, clear water reservoirs with pumphouse, supply and laying of transmission pipelines, and related electromechanical and instrumentation works.

Also, part of the project is automation works that cover the measurement of inflow and outflow water quantity and quality through suitable SCADA and other instrumentation works.

Previously, the Larsen & Toubro business had commissioned the Moga Water Supply Project for the same customer.

In , Larsen & Toubro won a repeat EPC order from the state’s Department of Water Resources for the underground pipeline irrigation system for the Rengali Right Irrigation Project (Phase-I).

Larsen & Toubro’s scope in the project includes survey, design, procurement, construction and installation of DI, HDPE Et PSC pipelines of different diameters and pipeline distribution networks with all allied works.

Apart from these, the water and effluent treatment business of L&T Construction has bagged add-on orders from the State Water and Sanitation Mission for executing various rural water supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission to deliver Functional House Tap Connection (FHTC) across the state.
