Loss in the tea industry: Wagh Bakri’s Parag Desai succumbs to injury

Wagh Bakri Tea Group is in mourning as it announces the tragic demise of its Executive Director, Parag Desai, at the age of 49. The news was conveyed to the public via an official post on social media. Parag Desai had been hospitalized following a severe fall near his residence, reportedly due to an encounter with street dogs, leading to a brain hemorrhage.

The company shared their grief, stating on Instagram, “With profound grief, we regret to inform the sad demise of our beloved Parag Desai.”

He remarked, “Very sad news coming in. Parag Desai, Director and owner of Wagh Bakri Tea passed away. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the entire Wagh Bakri family across India,” in a post on X.

Parag Desai’s Significant Contributions

Being one of the two executive directors on Wagh Bakri Tea Group’s board, Parag Desai was pivotal in guiding the group’s transformation, notably in branching out into tea lounges and e-commerce sectors. Entrusted with the responsibilities of the group’s sales, marketing, and export departments, he was also recognized for his skills as a tea taster and evaluator.
