Lhyfe launches construction of green hydrogen plant in Brake, Germany

In a significant stride towards bolstering the green energy infrastructure in Germany, Lhyfe, renowned for its pioneering efforts in producing renewable hydrogen, announced the commencement of construction for a new 10 MW green hydrogen production facility in Brake (Unterweser), Lower Saxony. This development is poised to mark a pivotal chapter in the region’s journey towards sustainable energy solutions.

Groundbreaking Ceremony and Plant Capabilities

The groundbreaking ceremony, held on February 1 in the port area managed by Niedersachsen Ports—Germany’s largest public seaport operator—signals the start of construction for what is set to be the first facility of its kind in Northern Germany dedicated to supplying green hydrogen to a broad market spectrum. Lhyfe’s new plant, with an installed electrolysis capacity of 10 MW, is expected to produce up to 1,150 tons of green hydrogen annually. This production is slated to be powered by renewable energy sources, including wind and photovoltaic plants, through direct Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) across the country, showcasing a commitment to sustainability.
