Larsen & Toubro wins multiple orders in power transmission and distribution

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that the power transmission and distribution unit of L&T Construction has won multiple orders in India and overseas worth in the range of INR 1,000 to 2,500 crores.

In India, the L&T Construction unit won an order to install a 765kV transmission line in Gujarat, which will increase the available power transfer capacity from the inter-state transmission system.

Larsen & Toubro said that the business has also won an order in a North-East state in India. The contract calls for upgrading the electric distribution system in the state and its scope includes the bolstering of medium and low voltage distribution networks.

In the UAE, the L&T Construction power transmission and distribution business secured repeat orders to construct new 132kV substations.

Larsen & Toubro said that an order has been won in Saudi Arabia for installing a 380kV overhead line which is expected to help in strengthening the evacuation infrastructure and enhance the reliability of the grid in the Western region of the country.

In Bangladesh, the company won orders to build a couple of new 132kV and 33kV substations in the Dhaka and Narayanganj regions to strengthen their distribution systems.
