Larsen & Toubro wins major EPC contracts in steel and alumina sectors
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has secured major industrial construction contracts in the steel and alumina sectors, reinforcing its leadership in EPC steel plants and alumina refinery projects. The company’s Minerals & Metals (M&M) business vertical has been awarded an order from Hindalco to establish a greenfield alumina refinery plant in Odisha, with a production capacity of 850 KTPA (kilo tonne per annum).
The project, which involves engineering, procurement, construction, and installation, signifies Hindalco’s continued trust in L&T as a reliable EPC contractor. With a collaboration spanning over three decades, L&T has played a key role in Hindalco’s expansion across its alumina, aluminium, and copper plants.
In addition to the Hindalco project, L&T has secured another major contract for an 8 MTPA (million tonne per annum) pellet plant from a leading steel producer in India. The scope of work includes engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction, and installation, in partnership with reputed technology providers.
