Larsen & Toubro wins construction contract for IT parks in Bangladesh

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that its construction business has bagged an order from the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority to construct Hi-Tech IT Parks at eight locations in Bangladesh.

The value of the contract is in the range of INR 1,000 to 2,500 crores.

The project, which is being financed by the Indian EXIM Bank, is the first IT and office space order won by Larsen & Toubro in Bangladesh.

According to the Indian conglomerate, the main scope of work of the contract includes procurement and construction of seven-storied structural steel buildings at all the eight locations with BUA of 1.2 million sft, which include civil, façade, finishes, and electromechanical works with LEED Gold rating.

Besides the scope has the installation of HVAC, lift, electrical, public health engineering, firefighting system, building management system, networking and security system, road, boundary wall, site development, landscaping, and arboriculture among others.

The new Hi-Tech IT Parks in Bangladesh will be located in Rangpur, Natore, Dhaka, Khulna, Jamalpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, and Gopalganj districts.
