Larsen & Toubro launches heavy wall pressure vessel facility in Saudi Arabia

India-based Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has strengthened its customer solution provisions with the inauguration of a cutting-edge heavy wall pressure vessel facility in Saudi Arabia.

This new facility mirrors Larsen & Toubro’s tailored capabilities in India and forms part of Aramco’s IKTVA initiative and Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to bolster local content. The modern manufacturing site is situated at the strategically located Royal Commission Jubail Industrial Area-1, near the seaport, and spans an impressive 120,000 sq. m.

Al-Ghamdi — Aramco Sr. Vice President of Project Management said: “The L&T Heavy Wall Pressure Vessel facility will play a crucial role in helping us meet the global energy sector demand while providing the necessary In Kingdom capabilities to deliver our projects & improve the schedule for the upcoming high workload.”

The advanced facility will focus on manufacturing static equipment of various complex metallurgy and heavy wall thicknesses, employing sophisticated modern machinery, process automation, and robotics.

Beyond producing equipment for the oil and gas, power, and other process industries, the facility is expected to generate local employment, replace imports, and significantly enhance the region’s manufacturing capabilities. This presents a golden opportunity for Saudi Arabia’s populace to acquire valuable skills and knowledge, enabling them to scale to international manufacturing standards.
