Larsen and Toubro bags contract for UG metro rail project of Patna MRTS
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said that its heavy civil infrastructure unit has bagged a contract from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) for providing the design and construction of the Underground (UG) Metro Project of Phase-1 of Patna MRTS.
Without revealing the exact contract value, Larsen and Toubro indicated its range to be between INR 1,000 crores and INR 2,500 crores.
According to the Indian engineering conglomerate, the major scope of work includes design and construction of a twin tunnel by Shield TBM of around 6km, tunnel by cut and cover, an underground ramp at Rajendra Nagar, as well as six underground metro stations.
The metro stations involved in the project are Rajendra Nagar, University, PMCH, Moin Ul Haq Stadium, Akashvani, and Gandhi Maidan.
Larsen and Toubro will also be responsible for the design and construction of other related structures. These include architectural finishing, sanitary installation, water supply, and drainage works on the new ISBT to Patna Station of Corridor-2 of Phase-1 of Patna MRTS.
The project alignment passes via the heart of Patna City and is slated to be wrapped up within 42 months. The project is financed by Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) and after its completion will be operated by it.
